With Jane approaching her 50th birthday, I purchased a nice gift for her, and then prepared to ship it to her. When it turned out that it was going to cost $79 to ship it, and a round-trip ticket bought with frequent flyer miles would cost $52, it started seeming like a good idea to head on over to Europe and jam with the Paulkovichs. I knew Jane had to work during the week, so I suggested that maybe Mike would want to go too, so we could hang together during the day and explore Heidelberg, and join Jane in the evening. My funds being limited, I would check in at the Roach Motel (Jane's crib). I left Newark Liberty International Airport around 8 pm on Thursday August 28, and arrived in Frankfort on Friday morning, where Jane picked me up and we headed towards Gundelfingen and GERALD!
